Description:
This is a full box, 20 original rounds, of .30-220 (early .30-06) ammunition manufactured by Winchester and labeled as “.30-220 Caliber Gov't Model 1906" with 220 grain metal patched soft point bullets with a 1-12 date code and call outs for the models 1895 and 1903. This loading is thought to be the earliest soft point loading for this caliber. The round corner, two piece box is in very good to near excellent condition with intact labels showing a nice cartridge cut and is solid with a small indent on the top label and slight side crush with overall light age soiling. The cartridges have darkened with age and two have age related splits in the cases but are otherwise excellent. A scarce early loading of soft point bullets.
