This rifle is a Swiss Vetterli Model 1878/81 in .41Swiss
Please note that this is by far the absolutely nicest example of this rifle I have ever seen. It is all matching and has very few if any handling marks in the wood. The bore on this rifle is a mirror, my pictures do not do it justice. This model is like the 1878 but has the upgraded rear sight known as the 1881 rear sight.
