Description:
Bell & Howell tank mono-telescope sight is marked "Telescope M5A1 and 1941". It was used during WWII by U.S. Army Sherman and Stuart tanks for their machine guns. The sight was mounted through the tanks armor on the turret and has a rubber eye guard which blanks out the left eye. Brass telescope has most of the olive drab paint on top of original brass patina while showing some chips from use. Overall good condition with some drying and cracking of rubber on nose of eye piece. Optics are good and measures 22-1/2 inches long. An interesting item.
