++++SOLD++++ If you are an admirer or collector of top-break Harrington & Richardson revolvers then you know the hardest part of collecting them is finding high-condition lightly-used examples. These were relatively inexpensive in their day and consequently were carried extensively, used, abused, and generally not very well cared for. Well here we have an exception, a beautiful all-original and all-matching 2nd Model H&R .38 Hammerless Top Break in .38 S&W caliber. It is what collector's consider a 2nd Model, 5th Variation. These 2nd Model 5th variation guns were made between 1916 and 1924 and are in the serial range of 160,000 to 190,000. As this example is serial number 187449, it was made in the last two years of that variation, either 1923 or 1924. This little revolver is in exceptional condition, and if not for a very minor drag line a few tiny little handling marks would be perfect. The gloss blue finish is bright, beautiful, and even across all of the metal parts. The factory markings and caliber designation is crisp and 100% legible, and all of the serial numbered parts are matching including the frame, barrel, top latch, and cylinder. The bore in the 3.25" inch barrel is mint and mirror-bright, as are the five chambers of the cylinder. The factory grips are like-new with ZERO cracks, chips, repairs, or visible wear. The front hinge is tight, the top latch locks up rock-solid, and the action is perfectly "in time" no matter how fast or slow you pull the trigger. This H&R .38 Hammerless for all intents and purposes is a new gun. If you have been looking for a true investment grade little H&R .38 Hammerless here is your chance to get the cleanest example we have had in years!
