Springfield model 1884 in .45-70 Government. The 1884 "Trapdoor Springfield" rifle was an improved replacement for the Springfield model 1873. Those improvements included a serrated trigger and an improved rear sight. This rifle saw use in Indian Wars, Spanish–American War, and the Philippine–American War. .45-70 Government
