Ruger assigned model numbers for the Mark II used to be provided in the box. Ruger's nomenclature for their Mark II series has additional model designations starting with MK for blued and KMK for stainless. In this case the KMK would be followed by 512 if 5.5". The GC indicates Government Competition (slab side) The KMK512GC was produced in FAR fewer numbers than the KMK678GC, making it very desirable to Ruger folks.
Serial Number 225-31532 is a Model 00188, Product line Mark II series pistol, in 22 LR caliber, the pistol model is no longer in production, this firearm was shipped in 2002. So, it is new in the box, but 20 years old. Has original box and paperwork, has two original mags and safety lock.
