Description:
Indian Owned U.S. Springfield Model 1873 Trapdoor Carbine. Serial number 138 xxx, 45-70 caliber, 22 inch barrel.

This Native American owned carbine has on the right side of its stock the carved symbol of a "circle in a 5 point star" found on several other Indian stolen US military guns studied  and written by Robert W. Smith, Titled " Weapons with Spiritual Power for the magazine "Man at Arms" in 1995. 
These guns have been thought of being weapons of members of a Native American warrior society.
A copy of the article in "Man at Arms" is Included.
