Description:
.SOLD This French derringer sized pistol with a 50 cal., 3 1/2” part round part octagon smoothbore barrel with a lightly cleaned bore showing light oxidation and light-to-moderate pitting. This pistol features floral brass inlays on the barrel with light floral engraving at the muzzle. The metal surfaces have been cleaned to pewter with a few stains from oxidation and pitting. The lock, swan neck hammer and frizzen have toned to rich antique gray; the fluted steel buttcap, side lock plate, and steel triggerguard show light cleaning with strong pewter and brown overtones. The one-piece walnut stock extends to within 1/2” of the muzzle and features light wire inlays on the backstrap surrounding an inlayed oval of ivory. The steel buttcap has reinforcing ribs extending up each side of the grip, and the triggerguard extends down the frontstrap with pineapple finial on the front. There is a wood ramrod with brass finial on one end, the lock is marked D' VINA , and it has a crisp action that functions mechanically.
