Description:
This is an original, WWII US Model 1911A1 .45 Auto Pistol manufactured by Ithaca in 1943 and chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge. The Model 1911A1 was the standard American sidearm of WWII and Korea. They served well into the Vietnam War. This pistol is in very good to fine condition. It exhibits honest wear with about 70% of its factory parkerized finish remaining. There is moderate holster wear on the slide. There is some scuffing of the finish on the trigger guard and front grip strap. There is wear on the right side of the mainspring housing typically caused by resting the heel of the palm on the butt of the gun while it is in the holster. This is a gun that looks like it was carried in combat, not left in a footlocker! The pistol has an excellent bore and mechanics. The barrel is of the correct High Standard manufacture. The grips are in fine condition with no chips or cracks; I'll include both the Vietnam-era grips with rack numbers and some earlier Keyes. The magazine is a post-war replacement. This is a nice honest, WWII Ithaca .45 Pistol.
