Serial numbered in the 45xxx range manufactured in early 1875. Falls within the serial range of original issues to the 5th U.S. Infantry that saw extended service in the Indian Wars from the 1870’s to the 1890’s. Later but all original parts added by Bannerman when they offered these for resale in the early 1900’s. They added the Model 1884 Buffington rear sight which has the rear screw missing. Has the original 1873 barrel, receiver and breech block. Very nice Bannerman Trap Door with excellent dark attic patina on metal and fine wood with the original finish and two nice inspector’s cartouches. Very tight working order and excellent bright bore.
