Cased, master-engraved Auguste Francotte 9.3x74R ejector double rifle; SN91650, made 1983. 90% rose and scroll coverage by master engraver Jean-Marie Smets of Liege; exhibition-grade checkered wood includes recoil pad and engraved pistol-grip cap with trap; 25 5/8" barrels with excellent bores and chambers and triple-lock-up, single standing rear sight and claw-mounts for Zeiss 1.5x12 scope. Receiver is finished bright with double fire-blued triggers (front trigger articulated), bushed firing pins, extended tangs and Southgate ejector system. Dimensions are:15" LOP over a 1" decelerator pad, drop is 1 5/8" to heel, cast-off is 1/4";rifle weight is 7lbs 7oz without scope. This is a super-strong boxlock double that locks up tight and functions flawlessly in excellent condition. It was traditionally handmade in a caliber comparable to the 375 H&H by one of Europe's premier time-honored makers of best doubles. 2" groups at 55yds with Norma Large Game 286gr Oryx. 30rds included.
