For some reason SAAs in .41 Colt are hard to find in anything but hard used condition. This example shows fine blue on the barrel mixing with some thinning blue on the less protected areas like along the left side etc. but good deep blue on top, along the ejector housing and bottom etc . The top and bottom of the ejector housing show fine blue. The cylinder shows fine deep blue overall with some light edge wear only. Good blue on the butt and trigger guard bow with thinning blue on the front strap and mostly gray/brown with a few light dings on the back strap. Has bright blue at the top of the back strap and toward the bottom area. Screws show good lightly thinned fire blue and excellent blue on the cylinder pin. the frame shows light and very faded case colors on the sides with good color ahead of the cylinder and in the more protected areas. Grips are fine and fit perfectly with only some wear/miniscule chipping at the lower edges. Four distinct clicks to the correct hammer and a bright excellent bore with perhaps a couple of small surface spots that ought to scrub out. Front sight has not been altered. The Colt letter verifies the aspects of this revolver and shows it was shipped to Simmons Hardware Company, St. Louis, Missouri on March 18, 1905. Interestingly, of the 357859 Pre-War Single Actions made, 150,683 were in .45 Colt; 64,489 were .44-40; and only 16,442 were in .41 Colt. This is one of the nicer examples in this scarce caliber I've seen in a while.
