HIGH CONDITION STEVENS 14 1/2 "LITTLE SCOUT" SINGLE SHOT .22LR BOYS RIFLE. As most of these small "Boys' rifles" were just that, given to boys at the turn of the last century, when encountered today are typically in well used and often abused condition with poor bores, badly cracked or chipped stocks and metal showing rust and neglect. finding a high condition example is often difficult. Well, here is one. The receiver retains fine only very slightly faded case colors and even the stamped steel trigger guard shows fine deep blue with some freckling. The barrel displays excellent blue overall with only some very light age. The stock and forearm are excellent with at worst a few light surface scratches in the finish only. The steel butt plate shows light blue and the barrel retains the original gallery style rear sight and blade front sight. The action is tight, the breech block retains fine blue, the hammer spring is strong with a good half cock safety and the bore is bright and excellent. Super hard to find like this.
