Payment Types Accepted: checks, cashiers/bank check, money order Description: A CLASSIC SHERLOCK HOLMES VICTORIAN ERA REVOLVER! I normally don't deal in revolvers like this, but when I found this one it was so appealing I had to have it. The top strap is marked "E. M. REILLY & CO. / 16 NEW OXFORD St. LONDON S.W." It is a double action pocket revolver #66XXX and marked for the .320 revolver cartridge- the forerunner of the .32 Colt introduced in England about 1870 (some revolver so chambered will accept the .32 Colt cartridge). E. M. Reilly was a retailer and also a manufacturer of fine double shotguns and revolvers. He was well respected and produced top quality arms. This little five-shooter that was probably made in the 1880s-1890s shows fine blue on the 2 1/4" barrel and sports a non-fluted cylinder and lovely checkered and finished birds head walnut grips. The front sight appears to be nickel silver. Frame screws are excellent and the frame and trigger guard are an even uncleaned gray patina. The cylinder shows a very thin blue/gray. There is a tiny British proof mark over each chamber and one on the barrel. Interestingly, on the left side of the frame ahead of the cylinder and above the serial number is a very small "W&S" stamping so I assume Webley & Scott probably retailed this one out of their shop. The action works perfectly and the bore is excellent. Overall measures only about 5 1/2" from butt to muzzle. I'm sure someone walking the dark, foggy 1880s London night felt a bit more secure with this little shooter in his or her pocket! SOLD Antique: Yes Handgun Caliber: .320 Revolver Manufacturer: E. M.
