This is a super rare Colt M1911 from 1918 that was shipped to the U.S. Marine Corps in December of 1918. The listing includes a Colt archive letter verifying this fact, stating it was one of 3,000 shipped to the USMC in Philadelphia of that year. It has about 85-90% of the Colt blue remaining, with most of the wear on the grip safety and mainspring housing. Excellent profile on both sides. Proper intertwined 'HP' marked barrel with excellent bore that matches the condition of the pistol. 'H' on rear of slide and inside of frame. Sharply checkered grips with only minor handling wear. Correct two-tone magazine with flat base.
