Description:
This is a nice example of an original, unaltered M1 carbine as produced by the Saginaw Steering Gear Company. The rear of the receiver is marked "SAGINAW S.G." over the serial number and the receiver tang is marked "SG". The front receiver is marked "US CARBINE/CAL. .30 M1", the front of the barrel is marked "SAGINAW S. G. DIV./GENERAL MOTORS" and it has the single "P" proof below that. Flip-up rear sight, flat top parkerized bolt, and mounted with a low wood walnut pistol grip stock with matching two rivet handguard with oval oiler and stamped with a crossed cannon and boxed "NPM/FJA" cartouche on the right side. Complete with a green canvas sling.
Rating Definition:
Extremely fine. The carbine retains 90% original parkerized finish showing only minor normal usage wear. The wood is also excellent with a few minor dings and handling marks. The markings are clear. The action is excellent. The sling is excellent.
