Description:
26 inch octagon barrel with a heavily oxidized bore and full magazine have mostly toned to deep plum-brown patina showing some scattered minor pitting. The case hardened receiver shows a mottled mix of dark brown and a deep smokey nickel appearance with some light pitting along the top edges. Sights include a flat top sporting rear and Lyman No. 4 ivory bead hunting front. Plain walnut forearm and buttstock with oil finish and rifle butt remain in very good condition showing scattered light handling marks and the left side having the carved initials “FA”. Early gun made in 1888.
