Description: Sale Pending !! This Winchester M-1917 was mfg abt 2/1918 by for the US Army per contract. These Win M1917 are almost identical to the British Enfield's. Exceptions are the caliber 30.06 as opposed to the British .303. They considered it to be one of the most accurate of all of the WW I rifles including the Springfield 03's& Remington M1917. This one has all the correct matching parts in the Bolt w/"W" (On the Handle), "W"Front Sight & "W" on the front Sling Swivel. The action s very smooth and much like the German Mauser's (1898) of which it was designed after. The bore has very nice rifling and is shiney (Meas - 2). The gun bluing is a very natural parkerizing finish throughout w/a natural olive black - very original to me. The Buttsock is in excellent condition w/o any cracks, dents or markings. The upper and lower hand guards are equally the same. The overal condition is to me is an "NRA - Very Good to Excellent. These Winchester's M1917 in this kind of condition are rare.
