We offer you a “G.I. Bring Back” Post WWII 98 Mauser Sporter Bolt Action Rifle Chambered in .270 Winchester.
This rifle was brought back to the states in the early 1950’s as a memento and has been sitting in a safe ever since until now. It was built on a Military 98 Mauser action that was scrubbed of all marking. It wears a 24 inch barrel with an excellent bore with no issues. The top of the barrel is marked “WAFFEN – KUPFER KASSEL 270 Win”. Under the stock on the left reads “BOHLER SPEZIAL” which is who made the barrel steel. The sight boss is marked with the serial number “1560” which is matching on the receiver. The rear sight has one fixed blade marked “100” and one folding marked “200”. The metal on the barrel and receiver are both in excellent condition as you can see. The stock is a classic European design with a pancake cheek piece and swivels. The checkering panels are in excellent condition as is the stock. The butt plate looks to be smooth horn and is hand scribed “1560” as is the butt of the stock. It has a length of pull of 14 inches over the butt plate. A Lyman receiver sight has been added at some point and works just fine. This is a very nice package in a condition seldom seen after 70 years.
Many of our estate firearms have been stored for some time and a thorough cleaning and inspection is recommended.
This will be shipped fully insured UPS Ground to your FFL for $55. It will be shipped in a double walled foam lined cardboard box that we have manufactured for us so that your gun arrives safe.
