Description:
Vintage LC Smith Model 2E Sidelock Ejector 12ga side by side; SN203599. All original VG+ attic condition gun, not cleaned or altered in any way. Mechanically excellent with excellent bores, working ejectors, bushed firing pins and rock-solid lockup with top-lever still closing well to the right of center. 30" barrels marked Hunter Arms Co., Fulton, N. Y. on top-rib, 203599 and 2E on bottom barrel flats, and bottom of both barrels ahead of flats marked CH 4WR. Receiver flats marked with SN and '86 and '88 patent dates. Underside of forearm marked with SN and 1901 patent date. Bright fine bores, both choked full at about .695" dia. at muzzle and .052" wall thickness, 2 3/4" chambers. Receiver silvered with 20% case colors, exibition-grade wood showing honest use but no cracks or splits, hard-rubber grip cap and buttplate. About 80% of original barrel brown remains showing beautiful chain and cable-pattern damascus. 14 1/2" LOP, 1.8" drop to heel. The previous owner included a handwritten framed letter of reference to provenance from Bill Hunter. Honest early 1900's gun in great working condition. Dealer or C&R FFL; $65 shipping.
