Pictures tell the story of its condition. Markings: The left side of the frame is marked "REMINGTON RAND INC SYRACUSE, N.Y. U.S.A.." The right side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY M 1911A1 U.S. ARMY NO. 1972052" witrh Ordinance mark at the rear of the frame. The right trigger guard is marked "3" while the left side is marked "H" and "1". The top of the slide and frame below the magazine release are marked "P". The barrel is marked "P" on the left link lug and "HS" on the right. Inspector Frank J Atwood's initials "FJA" are stamped on the left side of the frame below the slide above the magazine release. The original grips are Keyes fibre grips in exceptional condition showing no wear or marks. Checkering is sharp. The barrel bore is bright with strong rifling and no evidence of pitting or rust. The magazine is a 7 round original magazine showing virtually no use. It shows very light wear, likely from removal/inserttion. The letter "L" is marked on the toe of the floorplate. This exceptional 1911A1 would be a perfect addition to any military or Colt weapons collection. More pictures are available upon request and ask questions if you have any.
