Description:
For your consideraton, a Colt Police Positive revolver with a New Police side plate. This is not unusual as the Police Positive was sometimes seen with New Police side plates in its first year or production. It is chambered for the .38 S&W (aka .38 S&W Short, .38/200). The Positive was very popular amoung police departments along side their larger counterparts including the Colt Official Police and New Service. This revolver is in fair to good condition. The barrel and cylindar have a deep blue finish which suggests they are replacements. Like a Colt is expected to, it locks up as smooth and tight as a pocket watch snapping shut. The bore is in pristine condition. The left grip as a small chip as well as some grouped indentations from wear--possibly by pair of handcuffs knocking against the gun while holstered. Apart from that, both grip sides are essentially flawless, showing a crisp "COLT" at the thumb curves. Along with the longer barell (6"), the 38 SW is light, making this model a surprisingly fun and accurate shooter.
