Payment Types Accepted: Description: On Hold Sale Pending The company I purchased this musket from listed it as a 1803 Harpers Ferry flintlock, restocked in the mid 1800s. The flintlock functions at half and full stock but the markings are worn away with only one of the eagles wings faintly visible. The 33 inch part octagon part round barrel has original front and rear sights, a partially visible inspection stamp is visible near the breach. Rifling is no longer visible and the caliber is approximately 58. The lock and barrel have a smooth dark brown patina. The brass parts have a uncleaned brown patina also. The full wood stock is in good condition but has a crack on the left side of the but stock (see photo) and some burnout behind the hammer near the tang from firing. I believe the lock side plate, barrel and possibly the but plate are from a 1803 Harpers Ferry. I'm not sure about the trigger gaurd or nose cap. A very interesting old flintlock musket.
