+++++SOLD++++ Marlin 1881 Rifle fitted with a 24 inch octagon barrel, full length tube magazine, rifle rear sight (adjustable for elevation, drift windage), brass bead Lyman front sight, Lyman tang sight, double set triggers, walnut forearm, walnut stock fitted with a crescent butt-plate, originally blue finished with color case-hardened hammer, lever, and butt-plate, and chambered in .45 GOVT. (.45-70). There were approximately 20,000 of the Model 1881's manufactured from 1881 to 1892, this rifle is serial numbered in 6670. The rifle has lost most all of its original finishes, with only the magazine tube retaining traces of its original finish. The bore is shootable, with visible rifling, but there is light corrsion throughout. The action appears to function perfectly, as do the double set triggers. The tang sight functions perfectly.
