Description:
This very scarce shotgun is fitted with a 26 inch stainless steel barrel marked 2 3/4 inch cylinder bore. Its original wood has a considerable amount of original varnish remaining complete with the correct shotgun style buttplate. Action functions very nicely. Gun is in generally very good condition showing a fair amount of use but still has about 50% of the black Japaned style finish that was put on the barrel. The receiver and magazine tube have about 75% original thinning blue. Fairly clean little gun and is very scarce. Stainless steel barrel Model 12s were introduced during 1926 as a special order only, and discontinued in 1931 as the bluing easily wore off the stainless steel barrel since it was a "Japaned" finish, not regular bluing.
