Blued 22" round 3-groove rifled relined barrel with integral blade front sight and graduated flip rear sight with light illegible Sharps marking at breech. Case hardened converted percussion action with Sharp's 1848 Patent on right and Lawrence 1859 and C. Sharp's 1852 patent dates on right. Plain walnut buttstock with saddle ring and matching plain walnut forearm. Sharps serial #68081 was issued to the 16th PA. Cavalry that participated in the GETTYSBURG CAMPAIGN! ....The Sharp's that was issued ony 2 numbers after this one gives a HIGHLY LIKELYHOOD, this one was present at Gettysburg.
