Introduced in the mid-80s, the Smith & Wesson Model 639 is essentially an upgraded version of the Model 39, which was initially used by military and law enforcement. While the Model 39 was available with an aluminum or steel frame, the Model 639 was made only with a steel frame. This example is one of the later models that features pistol features all stainless steel construction, factory original wood medallion grips, has a safety de-cocker and an adjustable rear sight. It is in very good condition. The grip panels have wear, are faded, and have marks and dents, while the slide has marks, small scuffs, and scratches. One 8-round magazine is included. Of note: the Model 639 pistol was used by George Peppard‚‚s character John \"Hannibal\" Smith in the first several seasons of The A-Team
