SOLD I am offering My early 1st. Mod. Henry ser#1439 Civil War era 1863. The gun is in excellent original condition with a smooth "brown" patina on the barrel and mag. tube with NO pitting. The brass is that smooth aged mustard color with tight fitting side plates, and the wood has no cracks or gouges, and no signs of sanding etc., the Henry "bump" is evident. Wood to metal fit is excellent . The bore is bright and crisp with well defined lands and grooves. The original 4 piece wood cleaning rod is in the butt. The ser#'d screws all match. There had been a tang sight on the gun at some point immediatly behind the hammer, as per picture, and been removed a long time ago. Overall a very handsome 1st. mod.
