A nice example of an Ovieda Spanish small ring '93 Mauser sporterised in 7x57/7mm Mauser. There was a low production number of these 20" barrels made for the Spanish Calvery. As many know this was the rifle that gave Teddy Roosevelt and the Ruff Riders hell in Cuba during the Spanish Anerican War. Dispite it's age it is still extremely accurate and in remarkable condition. The beautiful dark walnut stock has a hand rubbed satin oil finish with no dents, scratches or cracks. The Whiteline recoil is on the stiff side but is in great shape. Barrel stil has crisp rifling with the standard 8.66" twist rate which will handle bullet weights from 140-185 grain easily. It is a great brush gun and with factory 140 grain Spitzers it produces 1810 ft/lbs a 2,400 fps a 100 yards and a 400 1059ft/lbs at 1846 fps. As the pictures will show there is no rust on the rifle, but it does have some old pitting. Though it is drilled and tapped for mounting scope, it currently wears a fully adjstable (drift and elevation) Wiliams Peep sight. The gun functions flawlessly I just got it back from the gunsmith to check things out and to give the nod of total functionabiity. Great gun, the 140g S and B has very little recoil at over 2,600 fps muzzle velocity. Great gun,accurate and fun to shoot with low recoil. It comes with everything shown in pictures: 2 new boxes (minus 1 or 39 rounds) of 140gn S and B ammo, 25pcs 1x fired brass (with the brass from S and B ammo you'll have 64pcs brass), 100 Speer Hot-Cor 160 gn bullets and a brand new Lee FL 2 die set with shell holder and powder scoop. With some LR primers and IMR/H 4350 range of powder and you are set for huting or punching paper with this fun caliber. Great rifle, only reason I am selling it is I truned 70 and a little to old to stalk any more so selling all the long guns except my 257 Bob and a good over/under.
