INDIAN WARS ERA U.S. MILITARY ACADEMY MODEL 1872 CADET SWORD & SCABBARD. 36” o/a with 29 ½” nickel plated blade maker proof stamped on ricasso “S”. Nickel plated steel scabbard with brass mounts. Brass hilt with “eagle” motif pommel and “MA” embossed guard. Very nice early example and original overall. In use until replaced by the Military Academy Model 1922 after WW1. Type carried at West Point by many famous Generals of WW1 and WW2 who went there.
