Description:
For your consideration is an exceptional condition & rare Italian shelter quarter. These were widely issued to German troops after they seized Italian stocks of equipment after the Italians surrendered in 1943.
This shelter quarter bears all the trademarks of WWII construction; camouflage printed on only one side, woven grommets & brown color vs. the post-war reddish brown.
The colors are nice & vibrant. Only a few minor holes & just a small stain or two.
There is a faint marking on the rear of the shelter quarter – a faint “42” is visible in bluish ink.
All of the brown Bakelite buttons have been removed; this was commonly done by German soldiers. However, all the buttons are included as well as the rope.
Italian shelter quarters are almost as rare as the German zelts made in Italian camouflage but are considerably less expensive.
Preferred method of payment is USPS money order but PayPal gift & personal checks also accepted.
