This is a beautiful all-original Colt Pre-70 Series Gold Cup National Match 1911 pistol in .45 ACP. This particular example was made in 1969, just prior to Colt's introduction of their 70 Series guns. This National Match has obviously lived a VERRY easy life and is in superb condition inside and out. This was Colt's top-of-the-line Target 1911 in .45 ACP. These were hand-fit and hand-tuned to be the best that they could offer. These Pre-70 Series guns have a beautiful high-gloss blue factory finish and their construction is top-quality. These guns quickly proved to be superb target pistols that could shoot with the best of the custom guns of the time. Today these pistols are sought-after by collectors and shooters alike, with high-condition examples like this one far and few between. More description to follow..
