This is an original WW2 SIGNED GUNTHER JOACHIM IN THE TOP FROM HIS DAYS AS A KRIEGSMARINE, later the Waffen SS recruited him as a spy during OPERATION GREIF ,a brain child of Adolph Hiter during the ARDENNES OFFENSIVE. The idea was to use German soldiers as the Battle of the Bulge, to miss direct and gather information on the allies.Joachim and two others were caught not knowing the password of the day in American uniforms , in an American Jeep. This was one of the first execution's filmed by the allies,you can put his name in and watch moment by moment his execution after a quick trial. all three were executed and buried together, I have the pictures of their graves and the story behind it and will be shipped to the buyer ,along with the hat.The hat is in above good shape , bought from an estate sale , had been in the attic many years. The cloth label has his name in it , and the front wreath has a backing of a german newspaper from the period it was constructed and applied, all 100% original , ask for more pictures if needed , call 859-533-5445, ask for Dan. The electric blue interior of the hat is beautiful, some wear on the sweat band as expected. The last words spoken by Gunther Joachim ,was long live the Furier ALDOLF HITLER, a nazi to the end.
