Description:
Original Holster 1880 to1890. Civilian holster from the Old West era. This classic holster with its tooling and added large antique brass spots makes it most attractive. This was a popular civilian style of the 80's and 90's. and beyond. Double loop style with its typical sewed closed toe. Made of medium weight russet colored leather, with pressed design on the main pouch. This holster could be worn as right hand draw or cross draw. It fits a 1873 Colt Single Action Army with a 7 1/2 inch barrel perfectly. The leather is soft and pliable. It would be perfect for displaying with your original vintage Colt or you could just use it. All the stitches are strong and intact. A very nice, hard to find holster for a 7 1/2 barreled Colt and others as in this case it holds my old Colt 1873 SAA. Vintage leather holster made for BIFFAR CHICAGO. Fred Biffar is recognized for his Chicago-based business "Fred Biffar was a retailer in sporting goods. This holster is in good condition save for the break in the top loop which has been re-enforced with the complete covering of the skirt with a thin layer of leather to guaranty no further separation. Nice for the collector to show off his vintage Colt six gun or S&W Frontier. This is an old western double loop style holster. Marked with the model number "548 over 28". It is a perfect fit for my 7 1/2 in. barrel Colt SAA but would service equally as well for genuine a Colt Bisley 7 1/2", a Colt 1878 D.A. 7 1/2", or a S&W D.A. or S.A. Frontier 7, 7 1/2, 8 ". Double loop 7 1/2 inch holsters are rarely found as most have been cut down for shorter guns. To find on in good condition is a rarity. There are no loose or missing stitching. My Old six shooter is not included.
