*** SOLD*** Rare early 1947 Military/Commercial Colt Government Model 1911. This pistol is in excellent original condition with mirror bright factory finish! Beside the rub mark on the right hand side of frame, it’s outstanding! Soon after WWII Colt resumed production of their Commercial pistols using surplus left over military parts, until supplies were depleted!
This pistol has a military frame (marked “5” by disconnect or hole), pre 1943 wartime pinned magazine, and excellent military Coltwood grips with molded numbers and reinforcing ribs. The Slide is one of the early 1947 first hard slides without the recoil plate! The barrel is correctly unmarked for this serial number range (C227000-C240287 according to Clawson’s book pg 214). The bore is pristine, strong rifling and grooves!
As the pictures clearly show, this is a very rare Early Post WWII Colt in superb condition!
