On Hold.Sale Pending US Springfield Model 1884 45-70 Trapdoor Army rifle that first served its country in war and later starred in many western movies as once owned by Fox studios. The full 2 band military stock shows many battle scars etc. Fox studio is stamped on left side of breach and 137 on top, Fox Studio cartouche on bottom of forearm with GPC stamped on the left side of the stock. Bronco M P CO is stamped on the left side of the stock. US 10 (rack or regiment) on the but plate. The model 1884 breach block has 4 hole drilled about 1/8 th deep for some reason. The 32.5 " barrel has both front and rear sights and a fairly good bore. Metal finnish is a grey, blue, brown color with scattered light pitting. The previous company said it was sold in 1988.
