Shipping is actual cost with a minimum of $30.00 for pistols and $50.00 for rifles/shotguns to ship to most of the 48 contiguous states. Shipping to Alaska may require an extra fee. Description:
Bushmaster is one of the more famous manufactures of AR-15’s and the high quality of their products is well known. The model shown above is a heavily customized XM15-E2S. To start off, the entire trigger assembly has been replaced by the excellent P.O.F. USA Model 5/14/M trigger kit, which provides this rifle with a very smooth trigger. The trigger and hammer retention pins have been replaced with an anti-walk pin kit. A Firefield quad rail has been fitted, replacing the original, basic AR-15 fore end. A Magpul RVG vertical grip has been attached to the bottom rail for better handling. The MFT pistol grip has a storage space with a removable rubber divider in it for the storage of AA or CR123 batteries. As the quad rail is fitted with a Streamlight TLR-1 flash light (which uses CR123’s), this is a useful feature. Sighting is via a Sightmark red dot which has four different reticule options. The stock is the factory standard M4 type though with 5 positions instead of the usual 6. This is mainly due to the fairly thick ambidextrous sling point adaptor that has been added to the back of the receiver. It prevents the stock from reaching the slot with the shortest length of pull. Since most AR15 users do not use this slot when actually shooting the rifle, this should not really be an issue. The bore is in excellent condition. I attempted to take pictures of it but by camera tended to focus on the muzzle break rather than the bore itself. As an older XM15-E2S model, the barrel’s twist rate is the early 1-in-9” right hand twist commonly found on older AR-15s. This twist rate will stabilize 55-gr bullets as standard and will stabilize some 62-gr types as well. It will not stabilize 75-gr bullets. Obviously, it is a simple matter to replace the barrel with a modern one utilizing the now common 1:7 twist for stabilizing heavier bullets consistently. Finally, the rifle is fitted with a simple nylon sling. The finish exhibits minor wear the upper receiver but nothing very noticeable. If you are looking for a good rifle for home defense the XM15 is a good choice.
