H. Piper – Hammer - DBl Barrel – 16 ga - Stk #C327
This antique H. Piper Hammer side by side shotgun was Mfg. in 1881 and is chambered for the 16 gauge shells. The (2) 30” browned tapered twist steel smooth bore round barrels are in good condition with the exception of finish wear and usage marks. The left barrel has a modified choke and the right barrel has a full choke. Light sporadic pitting is seen throughout the two bores. There is a front fixed bead mounted to the matted rib. The two side locks are in good condition with the exception of finish wear and usage marks. The checkered Walnut butt stock and forend are in very good condition with the exception of usage and handling marks. It has a synthetic butt plate. NOTE: the action has a little play when the barrels are locked in battery. Length of pull is 14-1/4 – 13-1/4”. Overall length is 46-3/8”. Weight is 5.6 lbs.
