This looks like an early rifle but impossible to tell. These rifles were not serial numbered, but this one has a tracking # stamp (360) hidden under the breech block. Bore is frosted but rifling is strong and it shoots and functions fine. First rifle I've seen patented is 3 countries! US, England, and Belgium. The scope was probably installed around the turn of the century by The Wm Malcolm Co. in Syracuse about 67 miles from Herkimer. It has clear optics, crosshairs, and is about 3 or 4 power, 0.8125 (about 5/8) dia. and 22" long. Both rifle and scope are highly collectible and represent an amazing chapter in Central NY, American history. free shipping to your C&R or FFL. USPS money order preferred, or check. P.S. Quackenbush also invented, and patented several pellet rifles, and the nut-cracker and pick set that comes out with the big bowl of mixed nuts for Christmas. The stand will go with it if you want it.
