Description:
Very good overall appearance w/ marks throughout, areas of peppery oxidation & cyl. turn line. Very good grips. Very good bore. Approx. 163,600 mfg. Sept. 17, 1917 to Jan. 1919 for US Army to supplement the Government 1911 pistol to fill war time demand; used same cartridge w/ half moon clips. Pinned 5 1/2" bbl. w/ half moon front sight & "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" mark on bottom. Blue finished, 5 screw N frame w/ 6 shot fluted swing out cyl. 2 Piece walnut grips w/ S# written in pencil on back of grip panel. Case colored hammer & smooth trigger. Left side of frame has flaming bomb ordnance proof & eagle S9 proof. .45 Auto
