***SOLD*** Absolutely beautiful five digit (63346) 1914 WWI Colt 1911 US Property marked pistol, 1 of 999 pistols shipped to Rock Island Arsenal, RockIsland IL,on February 17th of 1914. This piece is in unbelievable condition for a 108 yr old historical piece, and it's 100% ALL ORIGINAL!!! It features the correct first inspector of ordnance mark, Major Walter G. Penfield, and all the correct markings for a 1914 pistol. It has the correct early patent marked slide (without August 19 1913), used up to around serial number 85000, original grips (15 rows between diamonds) in excellent condition, correct blue barrel marked "P" & "H" (sn 25000 - 120000), and correct type 3 two tone magazine with lanyard loop.
The action is smooth and crip, fully functional. This is probably one of the best early WWI military 1911 I have ever seen! It's in superb condition all the way around!
WWI began on July 28th, 1914, almost five months after this pistol was shipped!!!
