Description:
A clean 19th century American full length walnut stocked long rifle with a 44" heavy octagonal barrel, and a strongly rifled bore, with patches of corrosion and some pits but will shoot well. The unmarked lock works well and has chisel engraved flying gtouse now pitted at the breech bolster area from firing black powder,. Furniture is brass and the nose cap is pewter, with a simple hardwood ram-rod. LOP with a brass crescent butt-plate is about 15" to bottom nose of the butt-plate. The set triggers like most America black powder weapons of the 19th century is set before cocking the hammer, The nipple looks like a recent replacement and this lock has no half-cock. The wlanut wood is very clean and the gun shows up well, with a rarer small caliber of .30. Bore measures .310 with a micrometer. When buying a gun always have it examined by a competent gunsmith before shooting. To buy a gun from me you must get a direct email for me, with details, and shipping cost.
