A beautiful 1954 B25 Grade IV, also known as the "Dogs and Foxes" model, as a predecessor to Diana Grade for European Market. The Serial# 40469. FN began it's production totals each year on July 1, so this 1954 gun was likely made about Aug/ Sept of 1954. The Grade IV was popular in Europe due to it's heavy engraving and Germanic style. A very nice sample of a Grade IV Superposed!
The Grade IV and other FN/Browning high grades were done post WWII thru the 1950s. But they were discontinued in the early 60s and replaced by the other Browning/FN high grades called the Pigeon, Pointer, Diana, and the Midas grades.
This example is an exceptional and highly recognized example as Felix Funken's work before he retired in 1960 as FN Chief Master Engraver and teacher to well known engraver Angelo Bee. What a grand example of a Browning Belgium Superposed offered for a Collector of Fine Browning Superposed and rarely seen for sales on line as a fine European over and under that made it to distant shores here in the USA.
