VERY ORNATELY ENGRAVED GERMAN MARTINI SCHUETZEN RIFLE SIGNED R. SCHROEDER NACHF HALLE, A/S CIRCA 1890’S. 8X46R caliber. 44” o/a with 26” octagon fluted barrel with original rear elevator sight. Front and tang sights missing. Profusely engraved with floral motifs in semi-relief with “JAGER” cartouches on both sides of the frame. Ornately engraved walnut stock. Good condition needing minor restoration. Barrel approximately 50% blue mixed with patina. Frame with traces of case colors in recesses with balance turning silver. Excellent engraving. Lower tang is slightly sprung and lever does not hold open on cocking. Set triggers also do not hold. Excellent bore however and fine quality deserving restoration. Schroeder most likely an agent or outfitter in Halle so guild gun possibly.
