"Confederate Alteration of a Hall Rifle. Alteration was performed by brazing a percussion hammer to the original flintlock hammer base and screwing a nipple into the former pan, which has been built up to support the nipple. From the renown Ben Michel collection and pictured in the catalogue. Mr. Michel notes that this type of alteration is typical of a western alteration. Possibly a unique Confederate altered Hall.
