About Us: I have had great luck in my sales through "GUNS INTERNATIONAL". This is the only site I use and do not plan to change.

Description:
This is a hand built from scratch Vogler style rifle made by Western NC gunmaker Robert (Bob) Ray.  The well figured curly maple stock has an aqua fortis stain and a hand rubbed oil finish.  It has a L&R Durs Egg lock.  The double set triggers were hand made and engraved by Bob.  The barrel is a 42 inch swamped barrel made by Rice Barrels. All inlays are hand made and engraved by Bob in the Vogler style.  The inlay below the cheek piece contains a vent pick. Everything about this rifle is in the Vogler style.  The bore is as new.  The barrel measures 1 inch at the breech and .830 at the muzzle.  It weighs 8 pounds and 9.6 ounces and has a 14 1/4 inch pull.  It was made in 1985 and has been Bob's personal gun since. The Vogler's were gun makers in Salem, NC in the early 1800's and made rifles in smaller calibers as all of the big game had been killed off by that time.  It is rare to find a NC gun in a caliber larger than .45, most being in the .30 caliber range or even in as small as .25 caliber.  Robert Ray  is a former lock maker and rifle class instructor for Jim Chambers Flintlock, Ltd. He has also made guns for Colonial Williamsburg in VA.  This is an outstanding example of guns made several hundred years ago in the south.
