1st Gen Colt Single Action SAA 22 Cal Christy Conversion. Excellent condition. Adjustable sights. 22 calibre. 1st Generation Colt Single Action Army.This revolver features blue finish, 5-1/2" barrel. Not so sure if the grips are original Colt. This neat little single action has been refinished and converted to fire the .22 L.R. cartridge by Christy Gun Works of Sacramento, CA. Christy Gun Works operated from the 1940's to the 1960's and specialized in gunsmithing Colt Single Actions and produced their own parts in house. Among their more famous clients were gun writers Elmer Keith and Skeeter Skelton who frequently plugged them in their articles. This revolver has a Christy marked 5-1/2" barrel in .22 caliber. The cylinder has had its chambers bushed to except 22 .L.R. The hammer has a custom rimfire firing pin. The revolver is in excellent mechanical condition, and the action locks up tight and is in perfect time. This conversion shows a high level of craftsmanship and would make an excellent shooter.
