Description:
+++SOLD+++ Here we have a beautiful all-original World War 2 production Izhevsk Arsenal M44 carbine in 7.62x54R.  This is a very handsome carbine for a Russian-made and issued rifle. as most you will see are either very well-used and rough or have been arsenal refinished one or more times.  This particular example is serial number KN3471 and it appears to have never been arsenal reworked as it lacks any of the box stamps with the perpendicular line running thru them.  All of the serial numbered parts appears stamped original matching including the bolt, receiver, and magazine floorplate with only the buttplate showing a lined out number and restamped with the matching KN3471 serial number.  The factory blue finish is in excellent condition overall, and all of the factory markings and inspection proofs are well-struck and 100% legible.  This Mosin M44 Carbine is import marked, however it is one of the very early ones that were import marked on the front sight/bayonet sleeve, an easy pinned-on part that could be swapped out within minutes for one without a import mark making the gun totally import-mark free.  This would increase the value of the carbine substantially.  The in-the-white polished bolt in this Mosin is still bright and clean with no bad spots or staining, showing only some runner marks from being worked in the action.  The bore in this Izhevsk M44 is very good with string and well-defined rifling throughout the barrel.  The lands are nice and shiny but the grooves are somewhat dark, typical for any WW2 production Mosin as they were not polished and bright like most of the military weapons fielded by other countries in WW2.  The original stock is in excellent condition, free from any cracks, chips, major damage, or eyesores.  All of the stock hardware is intact, in-place, and in excellent condition.  Both barrel bands are tight to the gun, the original cleaning rod is intact, and the buttplate and screws are all in great shape.  The factory folding spike bayonet is in excellent condition with a straight spike with clean edges, an intact sharpened tip, and the bayonet locks up tight and stays in position whether folded along the right side or extended out in the deployed position.  The action on this Izhevsk M44 Carbine is smooth, slick, and locks up tight with the barrel. All of the controls on this Carbine are in perfect working order.   There is no doubt that despite this M44 Carbine being more than 76 years ago that it will still function just as reliably and accurately today as it did when it was brand new.  These Mosin M44 Carbines keep climbing in value each year and will never be cheaper than they are now.  And as mentioned before, if the new owner so chooses, they can find an original Izhevsk front sight and bayonet sleeve that is not import marked and swap it onto this one, essentially increasing it value by double or more.
