Model TAR HEEL by James L. Batson, Jr. , an old American Drop Point style knife that measures 9-1/2 inches overall with a blade 5 inches long and 1 inch wide, with a single brass hilt. The knife has a deer antler handle with an axis. The unique sculpture representing the famous pirate Blackbeard (1683-November 22, 1718) born in Gloucestershire, England (whose real name was Edward Thache, Jr.) was created again by Paul G. Grussenmeyer in 1992.
