We, here at Guns, have acquired several Detroit Police Department trade-in Smith & Wesson M&P (Military and Police) series pistols. Smith & Wesson has been making firearms for Military and Police units for well over a decade, and they have established a reputation for quality and reliability.
The Smith & Wesson M&P 40 is a part of the newer series of semi-automatic handguns that were developed in the early 2000’s as a part of the effort to modernize the options to submit to departments and military trials. These M&P 40’s are marked with Detroit PD identification marks and bear a custom department serial number. The handguns show some wear from holster and duty use.
This handgun ships in the original S&W case and there is one 15-round magazine included.
